I have invited NEXTV customers to share their comments and reviews of NEXTV’s programming and service. Here is one of the first customer reviews we received, which goes into some detail about what it’s like to watch NEXTV’s German programming.
Andreas K. in Edmonton, Canada
I signed up for NEXTV about 2 months ago and have to say that I am very pleased with the service.
People do definitely need to make sure that their internet provider's speed is at least 1,500 kbs. Even with the Shaw 'high-speed extreme' service, which gives me plenty of download speed, there is sometimes, not very often, a little bit of pixelation in the picture, especially when close-up shots are shown that are at a high rate of speed. Picture quality is about 3/4 of regular TV, but I think that it is sufficient.
ARD & ZDF are available in both real time and a time-delayed version. That means that I can watch a ZDF or ARD show broadcast at 20:15 German time at 12:15 pm my time in Edmonton, or watch the same show again at 6:15 pm my time as the delay time of 8 hours is for Toronto — where NEXTV is situated. From what I can tell, ProSieben Sat.1 is being seen at the same time as can be seen on Dish Network (satellite TV).
The price for the NEXTV German Package is very reasonable. However, one has to factor in the cost of the high-speed internet. For me that's an extra 49.95/month, but I use the internet for downloading German movies, etc. from shift.tv as well. This way I can record shows that I am not able to view on NEXTV.

Danke, Andreas! We hope to get more feedback from other NEXTV viewers soon. I’m also taking a look at shift.tv. Watch for that soon.
