This historical Steckbrief for the infamous “Hauptmann von
Köpenick” (Wilhelm Voigt) dates from the 1906 robbery of the
Köpenick city hall (then a separate town near Berlin). This
notorious deed, carried out under the guise of being an army
captain, became a national sensation and led to a play (by Carl
Zuckmayer) and a German movie about the event.
