Wirtshaus

This Wirtshaus in Wiesbaden is still standing after 400 years. It is also still a working bar and restaurant that still rents out rooms. The German words for “inn” (Wirtshaus), “innkeeper” (Wirt), and “innkeeping” (Wirtschaft, which also means “business” and “economy”) illustrate the historical importance of inns.
