  SINGULAR FORMS
  ich esse   I eat/am eating
  du isst   you eat/are eating
  er
  sie isst
  es		   he
  she eats/is eating
  it
  PLURAL FORMS
  wir essen   we eat/are eating
  ihr esst   you (guys) eat/are eating
  sie essen   they eat/are eating
  Sie essen   you eat/are eating
Examples:
Ich esse eine Torte.
I’m eating a cake.
Er ißt einen Hamburger.
He's eating a hamburger.
Wann essen wir zu Mittag?
When do we eat lunch?
Note: essen is a so-called stem-changing verb. In the singular present tense for du and er/sie/es, the first e vowel changes to i. The plural forms do not change.
