Fast niemand läuft gerne mit einem Knutschfleck, den jeder sehen kann, herum.
Almost no one likes to run around with a hickey that everyone can see.
Musikalischen Ruhm erhielt der Knutschfleck 1983 durch das Lied "Der Knutschfleck", einen NDW-Hit der Sängerin Ixi alias Gaby Tiedemann.
The hickey gained musical fame in 1983 through the song "Der Knutschfleck" ("the hickey"), an NDW* hit by the singer Ixi, aka Gaby Tiedemann.
Als erste Maßnahme gegen das Ausbreiten des Knutschflecks empfiehlt es sich, die betroffene Stelle schnell zu kühlen.
As a first step to limit the size of a hickey, it is advisable to quickly cool the effected spot.

*NDW = Neue Deutsche Welle (New German Wave), a German popular music genre of the early 1980s
