As expected, Belarus' President Lukashenko has been declared the winner of the election. That's why tens of thousands of regime opponents took to the streets in Minsk.
Die Hauptstadt von Weißrussland ist Minsk.
The capital of Belarus is Minsk.
Weißrussland ist am stärksten von der Katastrophe von Tschernobyl (1986) betroffen, die ca. 25 % der Landesfläche nachhaltig kontaminiert hat.
Belarus was worst hit by the Chernobyl disaster (1986), which has contaminated about 25 percent of the country's land area.

*For some reason Germany and German continue to use older, outdated terms for certain geographic names, notably Peking for Beijing and Weißrussland (White Russia) for Belarus. Since 1992, the official designation for what used to be called White Russia has been Belarus.
