dämlich (adj)
   stupid, dumb, dim-witted

Das ist mindestens so dämlich, wie es sich anhört, aber auch ziemlich komisch.
That is at least as stupid as it sounds, but also rather funny.
„Wir haben uns alle zusammen zu dämlich angestellt“, schimpfte der Innenverteidiger.
"We all acted too stupidly," grumbled the inside defender.
So dämlich kann man schon gar nicht sein!
Nobody can really be that stupid!
