NOTE: Held is one of those German masc. nouns that end in -en or -n in all cases other than nominative. See the example below.

Er spielt den Helden.
He plays the hero.
„Wir sind Helden“ ist eine populäre deutsche Rockband.
“Wir sind Helden” (“We are heroes”) is a popular German rock band.
