Note: Unlike English, German has two different words for "Indian" – one for an American Indian (Indianer) and another for someone from India (Inder).

Der Schauspieler wurde als Indianerhäuptling “Fliegender Pfeil” bekannt.
The actor gained fame as the Indian chieftain “Flying Arrow.”
Während der britischen Kolonialzeit wurden Inder als Arbeiter in anderen Kolonien angeworben, daher leben viele Personen indischer Abstammung in Malaysia, Südafrika, […] und Singapur.
During the British colonial era, Indians were recruited as workers in other colonies. Therefore, many people of Indian heritage live in Malaysia, South Africa, … and Singapore.
Bis 1968 spielte er den edlen Indianer Winnetou in insgesamt elf Kinofilmen, unter anderem mit Stars wie Stewart Granger und Mario Adorf.
Until 1968 he [Pierre Brice] played the noble Indian Winnetou in a total of eleven feature films, with stars like Stewart Granger and Mario Adorf, among others. [See photo above.]
