grotten- (informal intensifier)
   extremely, horribly, very, mega-,
as in the expressions:
grottendumm extremely dumb, dumb beyond belief, dumb as a post
grottenschlecht extremely bad, horribly bad, mega-bad, the worst

Die Dame ist leider grottendumm.
The lady is unfortunately dumb as a post.
Der No-Angels-Auftritt war grottenschlecht.
The No Angels performance [in the 2008 Eurovision song contest] was mega-bad.

(Note: There are several "explanations" of the origin of grotten- expressions, but none of them really seem plausible. The one thing about this intensifier that most agree on is that it probably does not come from Grotte, the German word for grotto.)
