   crumbly, crumbling; fragile, frail, weak; friable; tender, soft (food); mealy, rotten; mellow

Genmais* macht Mäuse mürbe. / Osteoporose: Was Knochen mürbe macht.
Genetically modified corn makes mice frail. / Osteoporosis: What makes bones fragile.

*Short for Transgener Mais: Genetically engineered corn/maize (to protect it from pests and/or disease). Such so-called “Frankenfoods” are very controversial in Europe. See: Transgener Mais (Wikipedia).
