   to (grow) thin, thin out (hair, woods); clear, lift (fog); to dwindle, go down (supplies); brighten, lighten, become lighter/brighter; clear up, be cleared up (case, mystery, rash)

Der Nebel lichtete sich sehr früh.
The fog lifted very early.
Hautkrebs lässt sich nun mit Lichttherapie lichten.
Skin cancer can now be cleared up with light therapy.
